Jean McGowan, CFA

Chief investment officer

Jean McGowan joined Godsey & Gibb in 2014 with 23 years of experience in the investment industry. As Chief Investment Officer, Jean is responsible for overseeing the research and portfolio management process. Jean is also a member of the Investment Strategy Group, providing research, analysis and commentary on the economy, the financial markets, individual securities, investment strategies and asset allocation. Jean is a member of the Executive Management Team. Prior to joining the firm, Jean worked as a Portfolio Specialist and Relationship Manager for a large Institutional Asset Management firm, as well as a Portfolio Manager in the Investment Division of an Insurance Company. She also served as an Adjunct Professor for the Virginia Commonwealth University Executive MBA program and an advisor to the Student Managed Investment Portfolio.

Jean is a graduate of Elon University School of Business and earned an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is member of the CFA Institute and CFA Virginia and serves on the Board of CFA Virginia. She also serves on the Foundation Board of St Joseph’s Villa.
